Emirates ID app means one official app: UAEICP, published by ICP, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security. It is free on the App Store and Google Play. This guide shows how to find the real listing, sign in with UAE Pass, and use the services inside it.
We are not ICP or any UAE government body. We never ask for your ID number, and you should install the app only from the official stores.
Search the stores for an Emirates ID app and you get a mix of results: the official one, UAE Pass, and several look-alike apps from unknown developers. Only one of them belongs to ICP, and its name does not contain the words “Emirates ID” at all.

What Is the Emirates ID App?
The official app is called UAEICP in the stores. ICP’s own website calls it the ICP UAE Smart application and describes it as one platform for identity, nationality and residency services. So it does much more than show your card.

How to Recognise the Official Emirates ID App
Look at the developer name, not the logo. These are the details shown on the two official listings when we reviewed them.

The App Store still shows the authority’s older name, without “Customs and Port Security”. That is normal and not a sign of a fake. Ratings and version numbers change with every update, so treat them as a snapshot.
⚠️ Warning: We found no official ICP or u.ae page that lists the app on Huawei AppGallery. u.ae mentions Apple and Google platforms only. If a site offers you an APK file or a “latest version” download link, close it.
Device Requirements
Official sources publish very little here, so this list is short on purpose.
💡 Tip: Older posts quote “Android 8, iOS 12 and 3 GB RAM”. None of that appears on the official listings. Trust what the store shows for your own phone.
How to Download the Emirates ID App
There are 2 methods by which you can install UAEICP, one for each official store. Both are free.
Step 1: Open your phone’s own store
Use the UAEICP page on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, or the UAEICP page on Google Play for Android.
Step 2: Search for UAEICP
Type the name as one word. Searching “Emirates ID” brings up more look-alikes.
Step 3: Check the developer
Match the developer name with the table above before you tap anything.
Step 4: Install and open
Tap Get or Install, wait for the download, then open the app and choose your language.
Step 5: Allow notifications
Say yes when the app asks. Renewal and appointment alerts are one of the main reasons to keep it installed.
⚠️ Warning: ICP warns about fraudulent attempts that misuse its name and logo through fake calls and counterfeit websites. The real app never arrives as a link in an SMS or a WhatsApp message.
How to Sign In to the UAEICP App
ICP lists one sign-in method for the app: UAE Pass. Some guides also mention an older ICP username and password option. We could not confirm that on an official page, so plan on UAE Pass.
A little more detail (so it never fails):

The store descriptions add printing the family book and passport renewal for citizens. News reports relaying ICP say citizens can renew the passport and the card in one transaction since July 2026.
Renewing your card in the app
Renewal follows the same rules as on the website. ICP’s renewal page lists AED 100 for each year of residence plus a AED 100 smart application fee for residents. Renew late and u.ae says AED 20 a day applies after one month, capped at AED 1,000. The full steps are in our Emirates ID renewal guide.

How to Open Your Digital Card in the Emirates ID App
ICP confirms the app holds a digital wallet for official documents. The tap-by-tap path below is the one Gulf News describes, last updated in November 2025, so labels may have moved.
iPhone users also get an Add to Apple Wallet option, and the App Store listing confirms Wallet support. Gulf News also describes an Emirates ID QR Code button on the home screen for a card that has expired or is still in process. You verify with your mobile number or personal details, and the app creates a code.

⚠️ Warning: We found no ICP statement that the digital card is accepted everywhere. Keep the physical card with you for banks, travel and any office that asks to scan the chip.
UAEICP vs UAE Pass vs the ICP Website
The Emirates ID app is not the only official tool. ICP services are also reachable through UAE Pass and two web pages, and each one fits a different job.

So, UAEICP is the best method for most card tasks because it keeps applications, payments and renewal alerts in one place. Use the status page when you only need a quick answer, and UAE Pass when someone asks you to prove your identity.

ICP does not publish an error list for the app. These are the practical checks to run before you call.

No luck in the app? ICP’s ID Card Status page needs no login. Enter your application number (PRAN), or your ID number for a renewal or replacement.

I really suggest you install the official Emirates ID app today, even if your card is valid for years. Sign in once with UAE Pass, switch on notifications, and the app will tell you when a renewal is due.
